About our President & CEO

Lionel Perera was born in Sri Lanka.

At the age of 18, he joined one of the largest carbon factories in the world as a lab technician. During his 17 year career there, Lionel worked in various divisions and learned about how to manufacture carbon, eventually rising to the the ranks of production executive. In 1990 he migrated to the U.S. and started his own business in 1993, calling it Carbon Activated Corporation (CAC) and basing it in Los Angeles, California.

Today CAC and CAE are generally ranked as one of the most successful activated carbon companies in the world.
